This brew has the 'burn' and the cool bottle, but is it transcendental? Almost. I may be biased because I think my own homemade ginger beer is the most intense, but for a more commercially packaged carbonated brew, this one rocks! Sometimes I just pass by the bottled ginger brews when you can see through the bottle. It's been my experience that the more intense ginger beers/brews/sodas are usually cloudy. Citadelle offers us a nicely carbonated lemony ginger experience. I enjoy the length of the ginger burn (doesn't overpower spicy food) and the balance of the full-bodied flavor with the carbonation. The label represents the flavor well. A sunny island scene with palm trees by the water. This ginger beer is definitely refreshing and it will wake up your mouth and lift your spirits. Pass me the jerk tempeh with rice and a cold bottle of Citadelle Ginger Beer!
